“The Little John’s Deli & Food Market…Story”
Little John’s Deli & Food Market – great food, immaculate store conditions, an extremely fast and friendly staff and a heart-felt, sincere appreciation for your patronage. But there is more to “Little John’s Deli”. There is a beautiful, awesome, very special little boy who provided the inspiration for John and Christine Boucouvalas to put their life savings into Li’l John Enterprises, Inc. and hence, the establishment of Little John’s Deli & Food Market.

The things legends are made of; how John Steven Everett Boucouvalas, and subsequently Little John’s Deli, came to be…
For a combined total of 25 years, John W. Boucouvalas (President of Li’l John Enterprises, Inc.) and his wife Christine were mutually employed by a large convenience store/petroleum retailer based in Pennsylvania. So the story goes; a man and a woman with extensive retail experience meet, they fall in love and they get married.Soon thereafter, their dream came true and “Little John” was born.

Autism Speaks
When Little John was approximately four years old impaired speech and other developmental delays prompted John and Christine to have Little John examined by doctors and education professionals. After extensive testing, it was determined that Little John was autistic. Notwithstanding “normal” fears, such as for Little John’s safety in a world full of intense challenges, John and Christine adopted the attitude that…”there is NOT a thing they would change about Little John, even if they could.”

Little John is one of those one-in-a million people who exudes (absolutely) nothing…other than love, joy, inspiration and an overwhelming appreciation for the important things in life. So, in summary, aside from the need to make a living, there was an even greater inspiration associated with the conception of Little John’s Deli & Food Market. John and Christine Boucouvalas wanted to create something that would continuously celebrate Little John’s existence and, at the same time, generate awareness, understanding and appreciation with regard to autism and for the beautiful, wonderful people who are autistic.
Come by and see us, I know Little John would love to meet you.

Sincerely,
